Scott Tate Wants To Restore St. Pete Beach

Meet Scott Tate
Like many in St. Pete Beach, Scott and his family's lives were upended by the devastating storms of 2024. What he saw in the aftermath was a city government unprepared to help residents and businesses recover — a permitting system that slowed rebuilding, unmaintained infrastructure that failed when it was needed most, and leadership priorities not focused on recovery and resiliency.
A husband, father, and project management professional, Scott has a plan to ensure our community can rebuild, recover and thrive again. Scott's
Born into a U.S. Air Force household, Scott grew up with a deep respect for service and integrity. After moving to Tampa Bay almost 40 years ago, he graduated from the University of South Florida with degrees in Engineering and Business Administration and went on to create a career helping engineering organizations solve complex challenges and deliver projects on time and on budget. Today, he serves on both the St. Pete Beach Police Pension Board and the Belle Vista Civic Association Board, working hands-on to improve his community.
When he's not leading projects or serving his neighbors, Scott enjoys spending time on the beach and playing music with friends. He and his wife, Lynette, are committed to helping create a better St Pete Beach for our community and future generations to come.

Never let Big Developers turn St. Pete Beach into the next Clearwater.
Protect the character of St. Pete Beach by opposing any plan to place new tolls on vehicles or new taxes on residents.
Ensure the permitting and approval process works for, not against, residents and businesses.
Cut wasteful spending, and focus the city's efforts on essential items that improve the resiliency and quality of life for St. Pete Beach residents.
Secure alternative sources of revenue to offset our property taxes, such as increased shares of the Penny for Pinellas sales tax, the tourist (bed) tax, and transportation impact fees.
Facilitate the use of existing Florida Department of Transportation budgets to beautify medians and easements on Gulf Boulevard and all other state owned roads within St. Pete Beach.
Increase and beautify beach access points for residents.
